How copays work

Under CWELCC, eligible not-for-profit and home childcare providers reduce fees directly. For the needs-based municipal subsidy, families pay a co-payment based on gross income. The municipality tops up the remainder.

⚠️ Waitlist

Waitlists are common in major cities. Toronto, Ottawa, and other urban centres often have waits of 1–3 years for subsidized spots. Register early — being on the list is free.

Apply as early as possible — do not wait.
