What to ask when you call

• Not all licensed daycares accept the subsidy — always confirm before applying
• Call or email the provider to ask: "Are you currently accepting new families on the subsidy?"
• Ask if there's a wait for subsidy spots — some providers have subsidy waitlists even if they accept the program
• Once approved, your authorization is tied to a specific provider — changing providers requires notifying your caseworker
• Recognised subsidised home childcare (milieu familial reconnu) allows approved providers — sometimes relatives — to care for up to 6 children in their home. They must be recognised by a coordinating office (bureau coordonnateur) and do not live in the child's household.
